We tried this activity based on the other reviews. If you are looking for a fun-filled, educational day at sea with your children/grandchildren don't miss Cap'n Kids Fishing Adventures!!! We then returned to the dock in Saquatucket Harbor, where our journey ended. The children then threw the crabs back into the ocean. Each was carefully removed and placed on the deck. On the way back to the harbor we pulled up the crab trap and found almost 100 crabs in the trap. For those fish large enough to keep a deckhand filleted each fish. For fish that were too small to keep the deck hands helped us free the fish and return them to the sea. Almost immediately we started catching fish. When we arrived at the fishing grounds everyone cast their fishing rods to the bottom. This was followed by a 'balancing contest.' While cruising out of the harbor the children were allowed to put 'food' into the lobster trap and guessed how many crabs would be caught during our cruise. When we boarded the boat (which was sparkling clean) all deck hands welcomed us with smiles. My grandson caught 8 fish during our time at sea!!!! Finally, we were told that we would catch a number of fish. Note that all children receive a name badge identifying them as "1st Mates" a nice touch. Although focusing on the children his message is also effectively delivered to all adults. Second, before boarding the boat the Captain reviews what we will be doing and all safety tips. First, knowing the attention span of kids they limit the cruise to two hours. Given our experience it is clear that the owners of this business have covered all the bases. On Tuesday I took my grandson on the Cap'n Kids cruise.
